ONEFILE ROADSHOW ROUND-UP

Manchester was the final stop of the OneFile Roadshow 2016! Over the last week, we’ve welcomed guests from 300 organisations for three fun-filled days of workshops, Q&As, networking and competitions.

It all kicked off in the best way possible – with a spot of breakfast. After sampling some delicious pastries, we settled down for the first presentation of the day. OneFile director Susanna took to the stage to welcome old friends and new faces to our annual event. Then it was the account managers’ turn as they outlined the key software developments from 2016, and what’s to come over the next year. We have a lot planned for the future of OneFile – from OneFile Academy to our brand-new app – so it was great to get feedback from the audience.

After a quick refreshment stop, the group split to attend interactive workshops. Downstairs, Penny Guard from Highfield hosted a session on how the end-point assessment is going to affect the sector – and how Highfield is adapting to the changes. She then answered questions from the floor – a lot of really interesting topics were covered, so we’ve summed up the Q&As for you here.

While all this was going on, Cath Beechinor delivered a presentation all about Ofsted. She explained how you can make the most of OneFile’s features and take your centre to the next level; transforming your grade from ‘good’ to ‘great’.

By then everyone was ready for lunch – a finger-food feast of mini pies, salmon skewers and mushroom tarts. We had plenty of time to meet and mingle before taking our seats again for the afternoon session.

One of our lovely customers, Paula Hayes from TPM, took to the stage to share her experience of working with OneFile.

Before we started 100% of our processes were on paper. They’re now 100% electronic. Staff have completely embraced the system and learners much prefer to work online.’

Next it was bksb’s turn in the limelight as Kevin Mulhall paired up with Anne Stott, one of our OneFile account managers, to deliver a session about integration. After showcasing bksb’s brand-new features, Kevin explained how bksb and OneFile can be integrated from GCSE to apprentice level, ensuring a smooth transition for the learner as they progress.

After a quick tea break, it was time for ‘Ask the Experts’. Susanna Lawson, Kevin Mulhall, Penny Guard and Mark Bennett all sat on our expert panel and took questions from the floor. Lots of really interesting issues were raised and it was great to get honest answers from the people in the know.

We ended on a high, and Susanna said a few fond words before closing the event.

We’d like to say a huge thank you to all our customers for coming, to North Hertfordshire College and TPM for showcasing their experiences of using OneFile, and to Highfield and bksb for joining us on our journey from London to Manchester.
